How much water does the Bethpage Water District Pump per day?

In the wintertime, we pump on average approximately 2-3 million gallons of water per day to over 8800 service connections. In the summertime, we can pump as much as 10 million gallons of water per day. The major reason for the increase in pumping is due to the thousands of irrigation systems. In 2018, Bethpage Water District pumped in excess of 1.45 billion gallons of water to our customers throughout the year. This amount of water would be equivalent to our entire town covered in 7’ of water. Another comparison is to New York City’s daily demand. New York City pumps approximately 1.5 billion gallons of water per day which is the same amount Bethpage pumps all year.
