Commissioner Theresa M. Black Named Secretary of the Long Island Water Conference

The Bethpage Water District is proud to announce that Commissioner Theresa M. Black has been named Secretary of the Long Island Water Conference (LIWC), a regional organization representing water districts and suppliers across Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Commissioner Black brings decades of community involvement and leadership experience to this role. A lifelong Bethpage resident and local business owner of more than 30 years, she has long demonstrated a deep commitment to serving the community. As Water Commissioner, she has worked closely with her fellow Board members to advance some of the most comprehensive and technologically advanced water treatment systems in the region, helping to ensure Bethpage residents continue to receive safe, high-quality drinking water.

In her new role as Secretary of the Long Island Water Conference, Commissioner Black will help support collaboration among water providers throughout Long Island, addressing shared challenges, strengthening advocacy efforts, and promoting policies that protect water quality and public health.

The Bethpage Water District congratulates Commissioner Black on this well-deserved appointment and looks forward to her continued leadership on both the local and regional levels.
