Bethpage Water District opens it's doors to you!

Community Youth Groups invited to Tour the Facility

“It is important to teach the youth about what the District does to provide clean, high quality water,” said Commissioner Ellinger. “The children of the District will have the unique opportunity to learn about a process that results in a product essential to how they live their lives every day.”

Summer tours at the Bethpage Water District facilities offer community youth groups an exclusive opportunity to see how the latest water purification technology and the development of a new well contributes to protecting the community’s water supply. District personnel will provide attendees with knowledge that promotes water conservation and involvement in the community.

“The summer tours provide a rare, educational opportunity for young people to learn about their community and understand just how precious our water supply is,” said Commissioner Sullivan. “The District hopes to provide an experience for science education, and possibly inspire scientific discovery among the young people of our community.”

The young people of the district will witness all the steps that result in the District’s best water supply. Learning about the most advanced water purification technology will help instill the importance of conserving something so valuable.

“We hope that touring the Bethpage Water District will inspire the community to learn more and get involved,” said Commissioner Bretton. “We want to help kids learn how they can help protect our water supply, and share that knowledge with friends, families and in their schools.”
