What do I do if I see something suspicious?

When it comes to being aware of our surroundings, we can't be too cautious. That's why the Bethpage Water officials encourage the public to call the district office if they notice anyone operating or manipulating a fire hydrant. No one, other than district personnel or fire department members for fire fighting purposes, has the authority to open and use a fire hydrant for any purpose. Fire hydrant use requires a special-use permit and is limited to equipment on water district grounds so officials can supervise the process.

To help us keep our water supply safe and secure, residents are encouraged to act as the "eyes and ears" of the community and immediately report any unusual activity occurring on or around water district property to our 24 hour phone number at (516) 931-0093. Please remember that all workers carry official photo tags identifying them as Bethpage Water District employees and wear dark blue uniforms with the district name printed above the breast pocket.

If, at any time, you are unsure about letting a district employee enter your residence, do not hesitate to call the district office at (516) 931-0093.
